When considering the sustainability of a sea vessel, a sailing yacht is the ideal answer. For over 6,000 years, humankind has harnessed wind power for navigation. However, it is equally important that the production process of the vessel, including its sails, aligns with sustainable principles. While sail production has a relatively small environmental impact compared to the rest of the boat, our commitment is to minimise it as much as possible, providing the final customer with a low-impact product.
Filmless Breeze was created with this objective in mind. It combines materials that deliver the same high quality as Filmless Original but with an environmental impact five times lower than a conventional carbon sail membrane. The taffeta is woven from recycled polyester, sourced from abandoned fishing nets recovered from the ocean or plastic bottles. The reinforcement fibre is derived from a sustainable natural source, significantly reducing its carbon footprint compared to materials like carbon sails.
